EFFECT: A spectator freely selects a number. After a few simple sums the resulting number is linked to its corresponding letter in the alphabet. Spectator is asked to think of the name of a country which begins with the letter, and then the name of an animal that begins with the second letter of the chosen country. Performer shows an envelope they received from a friend. The envelope contains a postcard. On the back of the post card is the scribbled message “Wish you were here”. The performer turns the post card over and on the front is a message – the message predicts the country and animal the spectator is thinking of. Yes it is simple and possibly ‘light weight’ but it raises a laugh, still baffles and is easy to perform. Yes OK it is the old ‘Elephant in Denmark’ routine but with a few tweaks!
